Check out this guy http://www.myspace.com/davidmeshow http://ca.youtube.com/user/DavidMeShow
Seriously, his covers are much better than the originals in my opinion. His cover of Wonderwall is so good, is unexplainable. Check him out and tell me what you think.

The Storm

Last night, Jaycob and I wandered downtown to get Pizza. We had some sweet talks about school and the different things taught, different teachers, and class sizes. It was pretty sweet. As we were walking down, there were some flashes of lightning, but no thunder. Everything was just illuminated. When we were coming back up to my house, we took the side roads back and it started to rain. The absence of life on the roads, the rain, and the combination of the water in the air, the street lights and the lightning made everything really beautiful. The rain just washed everything away, including things on my mind. It was completley refreshing and just made everything really nice. Lindsay at night is a really nice town. Every time Jaycob and I wander the streets at night, it's just really nice. Last time we wandered, it was snowing, but it was a comforting snow. The snow was just like the rain was last night, just there and clearing my mind. Both the nights were good nights.

People These Days

A couple of people I know are acting the exact opposite of what I would expect them to. I'm not going to name these people, but it's just about two. I'm not really sure what to think about this, but I'm just going to let it flow for about a week or two and then I'll have to re-evaluate these people. I hope I won't have to do anything and everything's just a little off balance right now. Actually, at second thought, it's really just one person, and it's making me really confused. Well, I better get back to Business class before I get yelled at.

The Random Happenings Of Today

Hmm, Livejournal eh? Let's just see what can be done with this. Gotta love the Internet, the most magical place of all. So, today being a Thursday, I would be at school where one would assume nothing amazing would happen. True, but some silly things happen during the day.

So, first period, Business. Normally a do whatever class. Check my internets, that sort of thing. Well, today, our teacher, who is the craziest man, decided that he didn't want to be there today. He was there at the start of class, but just booked it out of there as quick as he could, leaving us to watch a movie about Ciggy Puffs and Alcohol, both of which I personally don't care for (I'm about the weeds if you care to know). The movie was all about advertising for these two products. First half was all about Ciggy's, and how they use sex appeal to get people to smoke. Don't really get that. What exactly is sexy about tar and all that? It had interviews with people who work in the Cigarette industry and basically what they were saying is that they target kids around the age of 12-14. They specifically target them. Pretty much the worst thing to do. Now, I have nothing against people who smoke (Brynn :D), do as you wish, but it's when these companies are doing things like this. The alcohol industry is no better. They basically do the same thing. They don't say they target kids, but they do. On the websites that they showed, Budwieser as an example, they basically had a section of the site devoted to people 13-18. It had flashy things and "Popular Music" which is supposed to appeal to that age range. Why would a Beers site have a section for people who can't even purchase the product? Hmm, not too hard to figure out. Also, before anyone says "Hey, weed is bad too", yes, I know it is, but from what I've read, and these come from creditable websites (ask for the links if you want), weed is a lot less harmful than Cigarettes or Alcohol.

Second Period: English.
English, english, english. Right now, it's basically a sleeper. Our student teacher is no where near as engaging as our normal teacher is, but, she is a student teacher, so it's not her fault. Everyday we read another few scenes of Macbeth, which is a good play, and then discuss them. Nothing real big happened here today. The only significant thing is that everybody was freaking out because our teacher went to a conference and everyone wanted their essays back.

Lunch: Yay,a break. Every day, Chris and I go to my grandparents house to eat pizza pockets and play 360/ watch The Price Is Right. As we were walking back, these two kids infront of us were talking and one said to the other "So, you going to go to your house to eat pizza pockets again today?". Gave Chris and I a laugh. Then when we went to cross the street, the giant group we somehow got absorbed into crossed the street when we really shouldn't have and everyone almost got hit by this huge truck. How fun. So, we get to my house, eat our pizza pockets, play a few songs on Guitar Hero and watch The Price Is Right. The best guy was on today. He was so excited to be there, and it was his 18th birthday. He got up on stage and Drew Carrey told him he was going to play Plinko. He jumped around and was the most excited man. At the end, he ended up getting $10,000. Not bad for a birthday gift. Drew Carrey should have just given him an autographed picture, or he should of just taken the plinko chips. They obviously have chocolate inside. As we were walking back, we saw a running man. It turned out to be Chris' english teacher, Mr.Luciak, who is the toughest man. He was wearing a shirt that said "This is Death Valley". Pretty sweet encounter.
Got back to school and it was time for History. This is a pretty sweet class, all we do is discuss things. Right now, we're doing in-class seminars. One person has the entire class for a 20 minute info dump and then we have a huge discussion. Today the topic was Franz Ferdinand and how his assassination was one of the major factors that led to WWI. Pretty standard thing to prove. When we got to the discussion, the majority of it was about the Black Hand, and whether what they did was justified as Liberation or was it merely a terrorist attack. It was pretty obvious that it was a terrorist attack. As soon as innocents start dying, that's when these things get out of hand. They threw a bomb into Ferdinands car, which he threw back, but his wife and kids were in the car. Fine, kill Ferdinand and end his rule, but his kids and wife? That's where it gets to the point of terrorism and not Liberation. They would have been justified in killing Ferdinand, but at the end of it, two shots were fired. Ferdinand and his wife are killed. This took the discussion into a more modern context and we ended up discussing Al-Quida. We discussed how in their mind, what they are doing is somehow justified. In their society, people who sacrifice themselves for a cause, we used the 9-11 attacks for our example, are seen as Martyrs now. The 11 people who participated in the attacks are probably the most known in that society now for what they did.

Math: Today, we ended up doing nothing. Our teacher was away and we had a sub who didn't really want to do anything, so I took the class to rest and listen to music. Before the class though, I went to buy a Coke Zero at the pop machine, and these grade 9's were hanging out infront of it. I put in my money and I clearly hear "Take this kids pop and change". I turn around to the kid who said it, and just give him the look "You little fucker. Back off". I grab my pop, and the money and then they have the nerve to ask me "Can I have a sip of that". Normally, I wouldn't have a problem but when I clearly heard that they wanted it, I'm not going to give it to them. They also asked me for the change. Again, I would normally give it, that's just how I roll, but these guys were just dicks. This little group of Grade 9's who hang out around the window are the biggest group of assholes I have ever seen. Every single day last week, there was a fight. One day as Chris and I were walking back, snowballs kept flying by our heads. It wasn't hard to tell who was doing this, as the only people behind us were about 3 grade 9's. Chris and I were just waiting for one to hit, as we would have do something. Normally I wouldn't, as I'm not a fighter, but this case would have been different. We're about twice their size and it seems like it would have been the only way to deal with that. Grade 9's this year are all the same. Last year they were fine, and as far as I know, we were fine too. I can't remember a time when any of us would be dicks to anyone other than people in our own little groups, and then it was just for jokes. It's just this year, and everyone I talk to agrees with me, the Grade 9's are dicks. It's not just to other students either, this little group just put the teachers through hell. I don't even know. Guess we'll just see what happens with them.
After School and Shit: Walking home something funny happened. I was walking with Kam and Rosie and when we were by Macs, Brad pulls up beside us and basically tells me he has weed if I want some. Kam and Rosie are just confused and I just say "Oh, that's just Brad". Kam understood. The other day I made him smell the tin foil from my bucket. Now I've just been sitting at home, chatting it up with Cassie, Brynn, Cassy, Emma and Mark for a little bit. All the best people. Also been watching TV. There was a Much Profile on about Nickleback, so that had to be watched. Now it's just some show about people dating, which is the silliest thing to do. People obviously shouldn't date, as it's the silliest thing to do. I probably just feel that way as I fail at the whole "Dating" thing. Complete fail. That's about it.
